This time its Lufthansa...



Travellers to and from Germany are bracing themselves for further disruptions in April following news that Lufthansa pilots are planning on a SECOND strike. The crew from Germany’s largest airline have stated that they will stage a four-day walk-out from April 13th as a result of ongoing disputes over wages and job security.

Reason: "Lufthansa group has been attempting to reduce its massive operating costs in the wake of the economic downturn that has impacted significantly across the travel industry. A recent statement by the airline said that its latest offer to pilots was in line with the current economic climate and the financial situation of the carrier. The most recent offer demands that Lufthansa pilots agree to a pay freeze that will continue over the next two years." - Taylor Smith

British Airways Strike

We've all heard of, and some experienced, the British Airways cabin crew strike that has been going on. British Airways cancelled more than 1,000 flights after its cabin crews launched a three-day strike, wreaking havoc on the plans of tens of thousands of passengers just before the busy spring holiday season.

The crew were striking on the 20, 21 and 22 March 2010 and will strike again 27, 28, 29and 30 March 2010 (according to British Airways). If you happen to be a victim of one of those days you will be able to rebook or refund your flight.

The strike, is backed by some unions in the United States, Germany and Spain.
